Daily Cleaning
Regular Vacuuming: Use a soft-bristled vacuum cleaner to thoroughly vacuum the sofa once a week, paying special attention to the crevices and corners to prevent dust from entering the sponge and affecting its breathability and comfort.
Spot Treatment: For spot stains, first remove surface dust with a vacuum cleaner or soft-bristled brush. Then, use a mild detergent, such as soapy water or a dedicated sofa cleaner, to gently pat and rub the stained area with a soft cloth until the stain is removed.
Overall Cleaning: For minor stains, use dry cleaning powder or spray to evenly spray the surface, then gently scrub with a soft brush. For heavier stains, mix warm water with an appropriate amount of neutral detergent and gently wipe the surface with a soft cloth, taking care not to allow moisture to penetrate the interior.
Avoid direct sunlight: Ultraviolet rays in sunlight can damage sponge fabric, causing it to age, fade, and even crack. Therefore, avoid placing sponge sofas in direct sunlight. Use curtains or sunshades to block sunlight. Prevent moisture from soaking: Sponge-covered sofas are sensitive to moisture. Absorbing too much moisture can cause mold, deformation, and even bacterial growth. Therefore, avoid placing excessive liquids, such as drinks or cups, on the sofa during use. If spills occur, immediately blot them with a dry cloth.
Avoid heavy pressure and excessive friction: Prolonged pressure from heavy objects can cause the sponge to deform and collapse, affecting comfort and support. Therefore, avoid sitting or lying in the same position for extended periods. Regularly change your sitting position or flip the sofa cushions to distribute the pressure evenly. Also, avoid excessive friction to prevent wear and tear on the fabric.
Air the sofa regularly: Sponge-covered sofas may accumulate moisture after use. Periodically air the cushions in a well-ventilated area, but avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading or hardening of the sponge material.
Use stain-resistant products: When purchasing a sofa, choose fabric with stain-resistant properties. You can also use stain-resistant spray to create a protective layer on the sofa to reduce stain adhesion and make daily cleaning easier.
